Exelis Inc. serves the United States (U.S.) Department of Defense and its prime contractors, U.S. Government intelligence agencies, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the Federal Aviation Administration, the U.S. Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force, and allied foreign governments, and commercial customers. The company was formerly known as ITT DCO, Inc. and changed its name to Exelis Inc. in July 2011. The company was incorporated in 2011 and is headquartered in McLean, Virginia.
